Civil aircraft: water management

Civil aircraft: water management

In the last ten years , CSO has manufactured dozens of various components for the water management systems of the Airbus A320, A320neo or A321, which are hidden inside the water pumps of the drinking water or waste management systems. Most of the components are manufactured from all types of stainless steel with a precision in the order of thousandths of millimetres. Water management consists in the circulation of clean water through the individual systems in the aircraft to the final tanks for waste water. We approach the manufacturing of such components with the awareness that any malfunction of the water management system could lead to the emergency landing of the aircraft and hence also generation of costs for the customer. For this reason, there are very strictly configured processes that are monitored via the control plans and subsequent random 5S audits. A similar procedure also applies to the statistical SPC and Cpk instruments, which are perceived as a matter of course at all levels in the organisation for long-term sustainability of the high demands for manufacturing precision.
